Mad Ants Invade Downtown Fort Wayne!

Chalk Walk Photo Gallery

July 17, 2007 - As Fort Wayne celebrates its 39th annual Three Rivers Festival, a colony of Mad Ants have invaded the city’s Headwaters Park to help promote the Summit City’s new NBA D-League basketball team. The multitude of ants march up and down the sidewalks of Clinton Street near the Meijer Event Tent and Sprint Food Alley, where the festival’s estimated 500,000 visitors enjoy food and fun.

Led by Excell Color Graphics’ Jeff Dollens, local artists also helped paint the oversized ants on Main Street near their space in the Fort Wayne Museum of Art Chalk Walk. Their design features the logo of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and an ant hill, where the insects will carry their funnel cakes, elephant ears, and other goodies and congregate after their long days in the sun.

The Mad Ants will also host a tent in the Two Men and A Truck Marketplace, which takes place in Headwaters Park West from Thursday, July 19 through Sunday, July 22.
