Sheenah Johnson Named Dance Team Coach for Fort Wayne’s D-League Team

(Fort Wayne, IN) – Former Indiana Pacemate and dynamic dance teacher Sheenah Johnson has been named Dance Team Coach for the new Fort Wayne NBA Development League team.

In addition to her tremendous dance ability and NBA-level experience in dance and choreography from her time as a Pacemate, Johnson currently owns one of the most innovative dance studios in Allen County, the SheeKriStyle Academy of Dance Arts. Johnson has also coached dance teams at every level of athletics – high school, college and now professional.

Tryouts for Fort Wayne’s NBA D-League dance team will take place at 1:00pm Saturday, July 14th at the Indiana Tech Gymnasium located at 1600 East Washington Boulevard in Fort Wayne. Now entering its seventh season, the NBA Development League will bring to Fort Wayne future NBA stars and some of the best young talent playing the game today. The D-League currently includes the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Anaheim Arsenal (Calif.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Bakersfield Jam (Calif.), Colorado 14ers (Broomfield), Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Idaho Stampede (Boise), Los Angeles D-Fenders (Calif.), Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.) and Tulsa 66ers (Okla.). In addition to the new Fort Wayne franchise, the D-League has already announced expansion teams for the 2007-2008 season for Des Moines, IA; the Rio Grande Valley in South Texas; and Orem, Utah (the Utah Flash).
