Fort Wayne, IN., August 27, 2009 – The Fort Wayne Mad Ants announced today that the local player open tryouts for the 2009-109 season will be held on Saturday, October 10th and Sunday, October 11th 2009. They will be held at Wambsganss Gymnasium on the Concordia Theological Seminary campus located at 6600 N Clinton St, Fort Wayne, IN, 46825. Check-in and late registration will begin at 10:00 am with tryouts beginning promptly at 11:00am.

The Mad Ants local player tryouts offer athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the Fort Wayne Mad Ants’ coaching staff, including head coach Joey Meyer. Players will compete to earn an invitation to the team’s training camp, which will begin in early November.

A total of eight players from the first two seasons found a spot on the Mad Ants roster by way of open tryouts. Last year’s roster consisted of four open tryout competitors; Chris Hunter, DeWitt Scott, Anthony Kent, and Ron Howard all played significant roles for the Mad Ants in the team’s second season.

Applicants can pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure and release forms, in addition to a $150 non-refundable fee by October 7, 2009. The fee for day of registration will be $200. Payments must be made by money order or cashier’s check. Application forms are available at www.fortwaynehoops.com.
