Trevor Bayne to Attend Saturday's Game

The Erie BayHawks will welcome NASCAR driver Trevor Bayne, 2011 Daytona 500 champion, to the team’s February 11 game versus the Dakota Wizards.

Bayne is scheduled to attend Saturday’s game, sit courtside, and after the game will sign autographs and greet fans.

Bayne’s appearance is part of a jam packed schedule of events for the BayHawks on February 11. The day begins with a triple-header of rivalry boys varsity high school games as Strong Vincent vs. East tips off at 1 pm, Harborcreek vs. Iroquois starts at 3:00, followed by Cambridge Springs vs. Union City at 4:30. Saturday is also “Faith & Family Night” featuring praise music and a halftime “Preachers in Sneakers” challenge. One ticket is valid for admission to all of the day’s events.

Bayne began racing in the Nationwide Series in 2009 for Michael Waltrip Racing. After two years with the team, he moved to Roush Fenway Racing, at the late end of the season, and began racing in the Sprint Cup Series for Wood Brothers Racing. In 2011, Bayne won the Daytona 500, becoming the youngest driver to win the race at 20 years and 1 day. This season he will drive the number 60 car in the Nationwide Series and the number 21 car in the Sprint Cup Series.
