BayHawks Announce Roster Move

ERIE, Jan. 9, 2009 — The NBA Development League Erie BayHawks announced their second roster move of the season with the addition of former Arkansas Razorback forward Darian Townes.

Townes, a 6-10, 250 pound forward will inject some much needed size into the BayHawks lineup. He averaged 23 minutes, 12 points and 5.5 rebounds per game in his senior year at Arkansas and most recently spent time playing for the Sacramento Kings Las Vegas summer league team.

“I coached against Darian when I was at LSU and he was with Arkansas,” said BayHawks coach John Treloar. “He will give us some good additional size down the middle.”

To make room on the roster for the addition, the BayHawks also announced the release of guard Geary Claxton.

The BayHawks return to the court to take on the Fort Wayne Mad Ants tonight and Central Division leading Iowa Energy, Saturday night, both games tip off at 7 pm at the Tullio Arena. Tickets are available at the Tullio box office and by phone at 452-4857.
