Multiple Former BayHawks to Play in Summer Leagues

Six former Erie BayHawks players have been selected to a 2013 Southwest Airlines Orlando Pro Summer League roster. Joining them will be former BayHawks head coach Jay Larranaga, who will manage the Boston Celtics squad. Current BayHawk guard Nick Covington has also been selected to play for the NBA Development League Select team in the Vegas Summer League.

The Orlando Summer League runs from July 7-12 and is one of two summer leagues that allow young players to showcase their abilities in front of NBA player personnel.

Chris Daniels, Jerome Jordan and Donald Sloan will participate with the Indiana Pacers while D.J. Kennedy and Cedric Jackson will suit up for the Miami Heat and Keith Benson joins the Brooklyn Nets in the Orlando session.

The Vegas Summer League tips off on July 13 at the Thomas and Mack Center in Las Vegas, Nevada. Covington will be featured on the NBA D-League Select roster, which is comprised solely of players who spent the 2012-13 season in the NBA Development League. Complete Vegas Summer League rosters will be released soon.
