Donald Sloan Signs with Cleveland Cavaliers

The Cleveland Cavaliers today signed Erie BayHawks guard Donald Sloan for the 34th GATORADE Call-up of the 2011-12 NBA Development League season. Sloan joins more than 100 NBA players with NBA D-League experience currently on 2011-12 rosters.

In eight games with the BayHawks this season, Sloan averaged 22.8 points, 7.4 assists and 38.5 minutes. He scored in double figures in all eight appearances, including an NBA D-League career-high 34 points in a 119-112 loss to the Rio Grande Valley Vipers on Nov. 26, 2011.

Sloan returns to the NBA following GATORADE Call-Ups to the Atlanta Hawks and New Orleans Hornets earlier this year. In eight NBA games this season, he’s averaged 2.3 points, 1.6 assists and 7.6 minutes.

Sloan is expected to join the Cavaliers today and be available on Sunday, March 18 when the team hosts the Hawks. The BayHawks will play the Canton Charge on Saturday, March 17. No corresponding roster move has been made yet and Erie’s roster stands at nine. The BayHawks will return home to face the Canton Charge on Thursday, March 22 at 7:00 PM.
