Jackson And Green Assigned To Erie By Cavaliers

NEW YORK, Feb. 24, 2010 The Cleveland Cavaliers assigned forwards Danny Green and Darnell Jackson to the Erie BayHawks, Cleveland's NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignments mark the 21st and 22nd time NBA players have been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate this season.

Green, a rookie out of North Carolina, has appeared in 13 games this season, averaging 2.5 points and 5.2 minutes. He scored a career-high six points in 10 minutes in a 109-95 victory over the Minnesota Timberwolves on Jan. 27 at Cleveland's Quicken Loans Arena.

Selected by the Cavaliers in the second round (46th overall) of the 2009 NBA Draft, Green spent four years with the Tar Heels, averaging 9.4 points, 4.1 rebounds and 19.9 minutes in 145 games, and was a member of the 2009 NCAA Championship team.

Jackson, in his second year with the Cavaliers, has appeared in 23 games for Cleveland this season, scoring 18 points in 92 minutes and rejoins the BayHawks following two assignments during the 2008-09 season. While with the BayHawks, Jackson averaged 19.5 points, 6.0 rebounds and 25.5 minutes. During his career, Jackson has averaged 1.6 points, 1.4 rebounds and 7.1 minutes in 74 NBA games.

Selected in the second round (52nd overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft by the Miami Heat, Jackson was acquired by Cleveland in exchange for a second round pick in the 2009 NBA Draft. A four-year contributor at Kansas and a member of the 2008 NCAA Championship squad, Jackson averaged 6.8 points and 4.9 rebounds while shooting .580 from the field in his 125-game NCAA career. Following his senior season, after averaging 11.2 points, a team-high 6.7 rebounds and scoring in double figures on 24 occasions, he was named to the All-Big 12 Third Team and Big 12 All-Improved Team by members of the media.
