BayHawks Trade Voided Due to Medical Reasons

The trade that took place between the Erie BayHawks and the Canton Charge on Monday has been voided, with NBA D-League approval, due to medical reasons. Both players involved in the trade will be returned to their original teams.

The BayHawks signed forward Sharrod Ford and immediately traded him to Canton in exchange for fellow forward Frank Hassell on Monday.

Ford (6-9, 240 lbs.) attended Clemson University and has played professionally for a variety of teams in multiple countries. The 29 year old was most recently with Sutor Montegranaro of the Italian League in 2010-2011 where he played in 30 games and averaged 15.8 points, 10.4 rebounds 2.3 blocks and 1.6 steals in 31.7 minutes per game. Undrafted out of college, Ford signed with the Phoenix Suns and saw action in three games during the 2005-2006 season.

He is expected to join the BayHawks for their game in Fort Wayne on Thursday night. He will make his home debut on Saturday as the BayHawks battle the Dakota Wizards. Saturday is also Ladies Night, presented by Charisma Salon, featuring a performance by the Anton Brothers, presented by Penelec.
