BayHawks Clinch Playoff Spot

On Tuesday the Erie BayHawks clinched a playoff spot by beating the Springfield Armor in an Eastern Conference showdown giving the two teams identical records (27-21) and putting them in a tie for second place in the Conference. The Dakota Wizards remain in first place, just one game ahead of Erie and Springfield. Erie's post-season berth was helped by the Bakersfield Jam defeating the Iowa Energy.

The BayHawks currently hold the fifth overall playoff spot (out of eight). Erie remains capable of getting as high as the number two overall seed in the playoffs if they can move ahead of Dakota and win the Conference with just two games remaining (the number two seed will be awarded to the Eastern Conference champion as Los Angeles has already secured the number one overall seed).

Erie plays their final regular season home game on Friday, April 6 vs. Canton, before traveling to Canton on Saturday to finish the season. Friday is Fan Appreciation Night and the first 1,000 fans will receive a Kyle Goldcamp bobblehead.

Playoff pairings will be determined on Sunday with the first post-season games to be played next week. Fans can purchase playoff tickets starting at 10am Wednesday morning at the Tullio Arena box office or by calling 452-4857.
