BayHawks Announce Opening Day Roster

The Erie BayHawks have set their opening day roster following the release of Malik Cooke and Ryan Anderson. In addition to the roster cuts, Erie has also placed forward Marvin Phillips on the inactive list.

Cooke (6-6, South Carolina) was Erie’s fourth round selection in the 2012 NBA Development League Draft. He averaged 12.3 points and 4.7 rebounds per game during his senior season with the Gamecocks.

Anderson (6-4, Nebraska) was acquired following Erie’s open tryout in October. He spent part of last season with the Sioux Falls Skyforce, scoring 7.8 points per game while shooting 48.4% from three.

Phillips (6-7, Claflin) was acquired in a mid-season trade from the Fort Wayne Mad Ants last season. He averaged 7.8 points and 6.2 rebounds per game for the season. Players can be placed on the inactive list without injury for a maximum of seven days before they have to be released or traded.

Erie’s season opener will take place on Friday, November 23 in Fort Wayne, Indiana as the BayHawks square off against the Fort Wayne Mad Ants. The BayHawks will begin their home season on Saturday, December 1 against division foe Canton. Full season tickets, mini plans and groups can be purchased by calling 814-790-5600.
