Treloar took a moment out of his hectic schedule to talk with cavs.com about his past experiences, his journey to the current post in Erie, and his goals for the BayHawks inaugural season in the NBDL
ERIE, Aug. 3, 2008 Erie native Ron Sertz has served since March as president of the Erie BayHawks, Erie's new National Basketball Development League team . But it's hardly his first venture into professional sports.
Sertz, the minority owner of the Erie Otters hockey team, resigned in February after 12 years as the team's director of operations. He also spent 26 years as a teacher, coach and administrator at Cathedral Preparatory School and was the founder and director for 25 years of the McDonald's Classic basketball tournament.
Now, at 61, Sertz said he's eagerly starting over as the leader of Erie's newest professional sports franchise.
ERIE, July 25, 2008 Flying from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City, John Treloar felt the fatigue.
He should have. The Erie BayHawks' coach was in the midst of working 17 consecutive days without a moment to rest. Treloar attended three NBA summer leagues, coached, scouted players and just kept going and going and going.
