Springfield Edges Delaware 125-114

Newark, DE—April 4, 2014— The Delaware 87ers (12--37) took on the Springfield Armor (21-28) in the fifth meeting between the teams this season. The Armor edged past the Sevens, 125-114.

Rodney Williams ignited the Sevens with an outstanding offensive performance, hitting seven of eight attempts from the field and scoring 17 points in the first half. Williams finished the game with 26 points and dished out four assists.

Damian Saunders hit a big three-pointer with just under 9 minutes remaining in the fourth quarter, putting the Sevens up 96-93. Saunders finished the game with 12 points and grabbing a game high 16 rebounds, but his efforts weren’t enough to put the Sevens up for good.

Former Sixers guard Lorenzo Brown led the way for the Armor with 28 points and nine assists. Devin Ebanks (21 points, four rebounds) and Adonis Thomas (20 points, 10 rebounds) also contributed.

The 87ers are back in action tomorrow, Saturday, April 5, when they host the Springfield Armor for the final game of the season at the Bob Carpenter Center at 7:00p.m. E.T.
