Lakers Call Up Kendall Marshall From Delaware 87ers

NEWARK, DE.—December 21, 2013— The Los Angeles Lakers have signed Delaware 87ers guard Kendall Marshall to a multi-year contract. Marshall (6-4, 195), acquired on December 3, played seven games with the Delaware 87ers averaging 19.4 points and 9.6 assists in 37.6 minutes per game.

Marshall was originally the 13th overall pick by the Phoenix Suns in the 2012 NBA Draft. Marshall appeared in 48 games with the Suns and averaged three points and three assist in 14 minutes per game. Prior to being selected in the 2012 NBA draft Marshall played two years at North Carolina averaging 8.1 points and 9.8 assists per game. As a sophomore at Carolina, Marshall set the all-time UNC assist record as well as the all-time ACC record for assist in a single season.

Kendall Marshall is the first GATORADE CALL-UP in SEVENS history and the 8th of the 2013-14 NBA Development League season. 120 current NBA players have NBA D-League experience.
