Delaware 87ers to Play Inaugural Season Home Opener

NEWARK, DEL. - DECEMBER 6, 2013 - The Delaware 87ers invite fans of all ages to help them make history as they tip off their inaugural season at home on Sunday, December 8 against the Canton Charge at the University of Delaware's Bob Carpenter Center (631 S College Ave, Newark, DE 19716) at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are still available for the Sevens' home opener and future home games online through Ticketmaster at SEVENS.COM, by phone at 302-504-7587 and in person at the Bob Carpenter Center box office. Parking for all Sevens home games is free.

All fans in attendance at the home opener will receive a 2013-14 season magnetic schedule, presented by Delaware Express. The first 3,000 fans will receive a Sevens T-shirt, presented by Delaware State Parks.

Star of the Disney Channel's 'Let It Shine' film and Atlantic Records recording artist Trevor Jackson will sing the National Anthem at the Sevens' home opener. Jackson also starred as Young Simba in Disney's Tony Award-winning Broadway musical 'The Lion King,' and is currently working on his first full-length album for release in 2014.

On Sunday, the Sevens will introduce Lindsey Covert, a former Washington Nationals host, and celebrity guest host Fred Green as the team's in-arena hosts at every home game, guiding fans through entertainment and activities.

Public Address Announcer Mark Sheppard will also make his debut on Sunday, bringing more than 33 years of experience in broadcast radio and television in the Philadelphia area. Jason Lee Sklar, who has 20 years of broadcasting experience, will be the team's public address announcer at select games this season.

Immediately after the game, the entire Sevens team will participate in an autograph session. Members of the Sixers Dream Team, presented by Parx Casino , will be in attendance to sign autographs, and a kids zone will be courtside for children to enjoy for free throughout the game.
