The Philadelphia 76ers announced that the Sixers have completed the purchase of the operating rights for a team to compete in the
17-team National Basketball Association Development League. The announcement was made at the future site of the team's home games on the campus of the University of Delaware at the Bob Carpenter Center. 76ers Managing Owner Josh Harris, 76ers CEO Adam Aron, NBADL President Dan Reed, Delaware Governor Jack Markell, U.S. Senators Tom Carper and Chris Coons, and University of Delaware President Patrick Harker were in attendance for the official press conference.
