Wizards Guard is Sixth GATORADE Call-Up This Season, Second to Warriors
Golden State Warriors Sign Dakota’s Renaldo Major

GREENVILLE, S.C., Jan. 17, 2007 – The Golden State Warriors signed Dakota Wizards guard Renaldo Major to a 10-day contract, Executive Vice President of Basketball Operations Chris Mullin announced today.

In 17 games with the Dakota Wizards this season, Major is averaging 18.5 points, 5.1 rebounds, 2.9 assists and 2.0 steals in 35.8 minutes per contest, while shooting 53.6% (104-194 FG) from the field. He currently ranks 15th in the D-League in scoring and is also fifth in steals per game.

A 6-7, 190-pound third-year professional, Major went undrafted out of Fresno State in the 2004 NBA Draft. He played the last two seasons (2004-05 & 2005-06) in the CBA with the Gary Steelheads and the Sioux Falls Skyforce, while also playing for the Dodge City Legend of the USBL in the summers of 2005 and 2006.

Major is the sixth Gatorade Call-Up of the 2006-07 NBA Development League season. Fellow Warrior Kelenna Azubuike was the first Call-Up of the season when he joined Golden State on January 2.

Major, 24, will wear uniform #12 and is set to join the Warriors for their game this evening in Los Angeles against the Clippers.
