Jerome Beasley Reacquired By Wizards

BISMARCK N.D., March 26, 2007 – The Dakota Wizards of the NBA Development League announced today that 6’10 forward Jerome Beasley has been reacquired by the team.

Beasley, a former University of North Dakota standout averaged 13.3 points and 6.8 rebounds in nine games with the Wizards earlier this season before going overseas to play for the Sydney Kings in the Australian NBL. Beasley, who hit the game winning shot in the Wizards home opener versus Sioux Falls, was a second round draft pick in the 2004 NBA draft (33rd overall) by the Miami Heat.

“Beasley will bring a lot to the team”, Said Wizards head coach Dave Joerger. “ It’s nice to get such a dominant player back when it’s time to make a push towards the post season”.

Beasley played two years at UND becoming the 10th leading scorer in team history (1,402 pts) and was named 2003 NCC Player of the Year. Following his time with the Heat, Beasley joined the Sioux Falls Skyforce and was an integral part of the 2004-05 CBA championship coached by now Wizards Head coach Dave Joerger.

The Wizards waived center Leonardo di Pacce dos Santos.
