Assistant Coach, Roanoke Dazzle
Chucky Brown

Chucky Brown was named assistant coach of the Roanoke Dazzle on October 7, 2004, replacing Mike Brown, who accepted the head coaching position with the Fayetteville Patriots.

Brown was head coach of the Raleigh Knights of the World Basketball Association in the summer of 2004, leading the team to a 12-8 finish and the semi-finals of the league postseason. The Knights finished the season as the hottest team in the WBA, winning their final six games.

A 13-year veteran, Brown played in 694 NBA games with the Cleveland Cavaliers, Los Angeles Lakers, New Jersey Nets, Dallas Mavericks, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Bucks, Atlanta Hawks, Charlotte Hornets, San Antonio Spurs, Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings. Sharing the record with Tony Massenburg for most NBA teams played for in a career with 12, Brown averaged 5.9 points and 3.1 rebounds. He also played professionally in Italy.

An All-Atlantic Coast Conference performer in 1989 at North Carolina State, Brown led the Wolfpack to the 1987 ACC championship and was the leading rebounder in the conference in 1989.

Brown, 36, served as the player mentor for the Fayetteville Patriots before taking the position at Roanoke. He has also volunteered his time as a coach for an AAU team in Raleigh, N.C. and for the NBA Rookie Transition Program.
