Doug Marty is entering his second season as the Lowgators head coach. He led North Charleston to the NBDL Playoffs last year and helped develop a league-high three "NBA callups" after assisting Alex English in the NBDL's inaugural season.

Marty was a three-year starter at point guard for Stanford (1979-‘82) and three times led the Cardinal in assists and minutes played. During his postgraduate studies at the University of Warwick in England, Marty was captain of the basketball team (1985-86) and averaged 36.2 ppg. He also served as head coach of the Luxembourg Basketball Federation’s Ad Contern Team (1993-96) and head basketball instructor at the National Institute of Sports and was a player/coach for six seasons in the Norwegian National League.

Marty is also no stranger to winning championships, garnering national titles in Luxembourg (2001) as a coach and in Norway (1998) as a player.

After completing his undergraduate work at Stanford, Marty earned a Master’s Degree in International Studies from the University of Warwick in Coventry, England (1986) and a Master’s Degree in Education from Harvard University (2000).
