Welcoming the New Guy - Q & A with Steve Weingarten

After being acquired in a trade from Delaware earlier this week, CantonCharge.com's Tanner Lawrence sat down with new Charge F Steve Weingarten for a quick Q&A session:

What can Charge fans expect out of you?

I just want to come in and work as hard as hard as I can to help this team. Theyíre already a great team. I just want to contribute in any way I can.

How do you feel about the Charge team and organization so far?

Itís been great so far. Obviously, this is one of the best teams in the league, if not the best. Itís a real privilege to be here and play for them.

What are your biggest assets?

I just want to come in and work as hard as I can during practice and during the games. Iím not going to take any plays off.

How can your experience in Australia translate to the D-League?

I had a great time in Australia. We played in a league where it was 48 minutes just like here. It was very fast paced, a lot of scoring. Iím going to try and do the same thing I did over there, over here.

What is your favorite basketball memory?

I have enjoyed playing with a lot of teammates over the years. I have enjoyed playing for some coaches over the years. Itís a great sport when you get to really be close to a lot of guys.

Who was your favorite player growing up?

When I was young, I really liked watching Allen Iverson.

What are some of the challenges with playing in the D-League?

I really like playing in it so far. Itís been great for me. I wouldnít say anything in particular.

What is a personal goal you have for the rest of the season?

I just want to work as absolutely as hard as I can and just leave it all at that. Just go all-in.
