Charge Sign Guard Antoine Agudio And Acquire Third Round Pick From Texas Legends In 2012 NBA D-Leauge Draft

Canton Charge Announce Player Transactions

CANTON, OH - December 1, 2011 - The Canton Charge have signed guard Antoine Agudio to a contract and have also acquired the Texas Legendís third round draft pick in the 2012 NBA D-League Draft in exchange for forward Jamine Peterson, General Manager Wes Wilcox announced today. Per team and league policy, terms of Agudioís contract were not released.

Agudio, 26, spent last season playing for VOO Verviers-Pepinster of the Belguim League. In 15 games, the 6-foot-3, 190 pound guard averaged 9.9 points on .509 shooting, 2.2 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 0.8 steals in 30.3 minutes per game. He also shot .422 from three-point range.

Prior to last season, Agudio spent two years with the New Mexico Thunderbirds of the NBA Developmental League. During the 2009-10 season, he played in 50 games (43 starts) averaging 15.1 points on .463 shooting (.463 from three-point range), 2.5 rebounds, 2.8 assists and 1.0 steal in 32.1 minutes per game. During the 2008-09 season, Agudio played in 26 games (10 starts) for the Thunderbirds and averaged 14.8 points on .486 shooting (.486 from three-point range), 3.1 rebounds, 1.4 assists and 1.8 steals in 32.3 minutes per game. In 2008-09, he also played in four EuroChallenge games for Banvit Basketbol Kulubu of the Turkish league, averaging 12.3 points, 2.0 rebounds and 2.0 assists per game and played in 12 Turkish league games, averaging 5.9 points on .681 shooting, 2.0 rebounds and 1.3 assists.

Prior to starting his professional career, Agudio played college basketball at Hofstra University. He played in 122 games at Hofstra (2004-08) and finished with career averages of 18.7 points on .442 shooting, 3.5 rebounds, 2.6 assists and 1.0 steals per game. He was named All-CAA First Team as a senior after playing in 27 games and averaging 22.7 points on .431 shooting, 3.9 rebounds 2.9 assists and 1.1 steals in 39.1 minutes per game. He was also named All-CAA First Team his junior year and earned Second Team during his sophomore season.

The 6-6, 230 pound Jamine Peterson did not appear in any games for the Charge. Peterson signed with the Charge as a returning player on October 20th.
