Skyforce Routes Charge in First-Ever Meeting

Sioux Falls, S.D. (Dec. 13, 2011) Ė The Sioux Falls Skyforce defeated the Canton Charge 93-74 Tuesday night at the Sioux Falls Arena. Sioux Falls took its first lead of the game with a layup by Dominique Coleman midway through the first quarter to go ahead 10-9 and never trailed the rest of the game.

Sioux Falls (2-5) took advantage of Cantonís poor shooting all night and led by as many as 25 points early in the fourth quarter. Ryan Anderson scored 12 of his 20 points in the second quarter as Sioux Falls outscored Canton (3-4) 32-22 in that quarter to take a 48-33 lead at halftime.

Both teams got off to sluggish starts as Canton took the early lead with a 7-0 run to start the game. Sioux Falls responded with a 16-4 run taking advantage of Cantonís 16.7 percent shooting in the first quarter. Sioux Falls used a balanced scoring effort to build their lead the rest of the game as five players finished in double figures.

Anderson had his best game in a Skyforce uniform with a team-high 20 points to go along with nine rebounds. Billy McShepard posted a double-double with 12 points and a season-high 14 rebounds.

Dante Milligan led Canton in scoring with 18 points and also grabbed a season-high 18 rebounds. Travis Franklin added 13 points and six rebounds off the bench.

Sioux Falls hosts rival Dakota in back-to-back games on Friday and Saturday at 7 p.m. CT. Canton continues their road trip Friday against Idaho at 9 p.m. ET.
