Charge Girls Set to Make First Appearance October 6
The Canton Charge Girls Dance Team is set to make a first-ever public appearance this Saturday, October 6 at TD’s Tailgate Grill in Canton. The team also announces the hiring of Toni Wall as the Charge Girls’ Dance Team Coordinator.
The meet and greet with the Charge Girls will be from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. at TD’s Tailgate Grill at 2234 Tuscarawas Street West, Canton, OH 44708. The appearance will be the dance team’s debut, as they will be on hand to meet fans, pose for photos and sign autographs.
Auditions for the Charge Girls were held on Sunday, August 5 in Canton. The dancers took part in an all-day audition where they interviewed, learned several choreographed routines and took part in a free-style dance session. At the end of day one, the field was narrowed to 12 ladies who took part in a final audition the following evening. The inaugural eight members of the Charge Girls Dance Team was named later that week.
Toni Wall comes to the Cavaliers organization with over 15 years of dance experience, including four years as a member of the Cleveland Cavalier Girls Dance Team. She has most recently served as an independent dance instructor in preparing individuals for the upcoming 2012-13 Cavalier Girls auditions. During her stint as a Cavalier Girl, Wall also instructed and choreographed routines for the Cav-a-Littles, a youthful squad of talented dancers and performers ages 5-13 that performs at select Cavalier home games. Prior to her professional career, she trained at the Rhythm in Shoes Dance Studio as well as All That Jazz With Monica, both in Warren, Ohio.
Wall received her Bachelor of Arts in English from the University of Akron in 2008, where she was the Assistant Dance Team Coach for the Zips in her final three years. She is currently studying to earn a law degree from Cleveland State University.
