Canton wins the series 2-1 and moves on to the semifinal round

The Canton Charge topped the Springfield Armor, 115-106, to advance to the semifinal round of the NBA Development League Playoffs presented by BBVA. Canton took the best-of-three series 2-1 with a road victory at the MassMutual Center on Monday night.

Three players scored over 20 points to lead the Charge. Antoine Agudio poured in 24 on 8-of-13 shooting with six rebounds and three assists in 42 minutes. Kyle Gibson tallied 23 with eight boards in 30 minutes. Tyrell Biggs gave a superb effort off the bench with 21 points on 9-of-12 shooting with five boards in 29 minutes. Canton outrebounded Springfield 48-31 after being outmuscled on the glass 44-27 in their loss last night.

All five Armor starters scored in double-figures, with three surpassing the 20-point plateau. L.D. Williams had 27 points with seven boards and three steals in 42 minutes. JamesOn Curry supplied 24 points with five boards and six assists in 38 minutes. Dennis Horner added 21 with seven rebounds and three steals in 42 minutes. Canton outshot Springfield on the night 56% to 44%.

T.J. Campbell anchored the offense with 19 points on 6-of-10 shooting with five rebounds and eight assists in 43 minutes. Trent Strickland saw extended action off the bench for the second-consecutive game with 13 points and four assists in 27 minutes. Trent played 31 minutes last night and was a key cog in the defensive rotation late in both games. Luke Harangody, who was playing his fourth game in four nights after a stint with the Cleveland Cavaliers on Saturday and all three games of this series, added seven points and 10 rebounds in 25 minutes tonight.

The Charge will host Game 1 of their semifinal series against the winner of the deciding Austin Toros and Erie BayHawks matchup that finishes later tonight. The date and time of the contest will be announced by the league office tomorrow morning.
