Charge Add Guard Manny Harris

The Canton Charge announced that guard Manny Harris (6-5, 185, Michigan) has been added to the roster by the NBA Development League’s player affiliate rule. The rule allows D-League teams to acquire up to three players that were waived from their affiliate’s NBA training camp that do not otherwise have their rights held by another team. Harris spent the 2010-2011 season as a member of the Cleveland Cavaliers and was waived on December 22nd, 2011. The Charge have also waived forward Jonathan Blake.

“We are excited Manny is joining our team in Canton,” said Charge General Manager Wes Wilcox. “This is the most recent example of the unique synergy between the Cavaliers and Canton. Manny is a talented young player with NBA and Cavaliers experience. We look forward to his impact with the Charge while continuing his development as he nears his return to the court following his recent injury."

Harris, 22, played in 54 games (15 starts) averaging 5.9 points, 2.6 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 0.6 steals in 17.3 minutes per game in his lone season with the Cavaliers. In three seasons at the University of Michigan, Harris played in 98 games and averaged 17.0 points on .406 shooting, 5.7 rebounds, 3.7 assists and 1.5 steals in 34.0 minutes per game. He was a three-year letterman and was a first-team All-Big Ten selection his sophomore year.

Blake played in eleven games with Canton this season (seven starts), averaging 7.1 points on .492 shooting, 3.9 rebounds, 0.4 assists and 0.4 steal in 20.6 minutes per game.
