The team also announced new eight-game mini plans.

Canton Charge 2012-13 Schedule Announced

The Canton Charge, the exclusively owned and operated NBA Development League affiliate of the Cleveland Cavaliers, will tip off their second season when they host the Maine Red Claws (Boston Celtics affiliate) on Friday, November 23rd at 7:30 p.m. at the Canton Memorial Civic Center. The entire schedule of games for all 16 teams was also announced by the NBA Development League office today.

The 50-game regular season schedule consists of 24 home and 24 road games, in addition to two mid-January games at the annual NBA D-League Showcase in Reno, Nevada (to be announced at a later date). Of the Charge’s 24 home games, 16 will be on Fridays and Saturdays (six Friday and 10 Saturday). Canton will play 14 of the other 15 D-League teams this season, with the exception being the Golden State Warriors’ NBA D-League team. The Charge and Springfield Armor (Brooklyn Nets affiliate) will meet a Canton schedule-high eight times during the regular season (five at home and three on the road). The two teams met in a thrilling opening round playoff series last year, with the Charge winning 2-1 and capturing their first playoff series victory in franchise history.

After back-to-back home games to start the season, Canton will visit Fort Wayne (affiliate of the Charlotte Bobcats, Detroit Pistons, Indiana Pacers and Milwaukee Bucks) for the first of seven matchups between the two teams (three at home and four on the road). The Charge will also have seven games against the Erie BayHawks (New York Knicks affiliate) this season (five at home and two on the road). Canton’s longest home stand of 2012-13 will be a four-game set from March 13th-20th. The Charge will also travel for six separate three-game road trips this season.

Other schedule highlights include a visit from the 2011-12 D-League champion Austin Toros (San Antonio Spurs affiliate), on December 26th. The Tulsa 66ers (Oklahoma City Thunder affiliate) will visit Canton for the first time ever on December 28th and 29th and the Idaho Stampede (Portland Trail Blazers affiliate) will come to town for their first-ever visit on February 28th. Canton will also make their first visit to Reno (affiliate of Memphis Grizzlies, Sacramento Kings and Utah Jazz) to play the Bighorns in a pair of road games to cap off the regular season on April 5th and 6th.

In addition to the release of the schedule, the Charge also announced two new eight-game ticket plans for 2012-13, giving fans the chance to take in the fun-filled family entertainment and excitement of Charge games with a ticket plan that best fits their schedule at an affordable price. The Slam Dunk Plan starts as low as $48 and includes all of the weekend prime games, featuring Opening Night, Heart Health Night, Military Appreciation Night and more. TD’s 8-Game Steal Plan starts as low as $40 per plan and includes all weekday games, including Education/Kids Day and a rematch with last year’s playoff semifinal opponent, the Austin Toros. The first 50 TD’s 8-Game Steal Plans purchased receive a $20 gift certificate to TD’s Tailgate Grill (2234 Tuscarawas St. W, Canton, OH 44708).
