Arinze Onuaku Named 2013 NBA D-League All-Star

Canton Charge forward/center Arinze Onuaku has been selected to participate in the 2013 NBA Development League All-Star Game in Houston on February 16th, the league announced today. Onuaku was chosen as the lone Charge representative out of 20 players that were selected via votes from all 16 NBA D-League head coaches.

“We are very happy for Arinze to be recognized with this honor by all the other coaches around the league,” said Charge Head Coach Alex Jensen. “He has worked extremely hard to improve himself ever since he came here and we look forward to watching him represent the Charge and Cavaliers organizations in the upcoming All-Star Game in Houston.”

The honor is Onuaku’s first in his first year with Canton and second season in the D-League. Arinze was acquired by the Charge in a post-draft trade with the Reno Bighorns on November 5th. He is currently averaging 12.3 points on .561 shooting to go along with 9.8 rebounds, 1.0 blocks and 0.6 steals in 22.3 minutes per game. His .561 field goal percentage and 9.8 rebounds per game are good for third and fifth-best in the league respectively.

The seventh annual NBA D-League All-Star Game is set to tip off on Saturday, February 16th at Sprint Arena at NBA All-Star Jam Session at the Houston’s George R. Brown Convention Center. Onuaku will be on the "Prospects" team coached by Bakersfield's Will Voigt and the contest will be broadcast live nationally on NBA TV at 3:00 p.m. EST.
