BAKERSFIELD, March 2, 2012 – Bakersfield’s NBA affiliate, the Los Angeles Clippers, have assigned rookie guard Travis Leslie to the Jam, the team announced today. The assignment marks the 42nd time in the 2011-12 season an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate, and it is the second assignment to the Jam this season.
Leslie, a 6-4 205 lbs guard, has appeared in 8 games with the Clippers this season, averaging 1.5 points, 1.0 rebounds and 0.5 assists in 4.9 minutes. Leslie was drafted by the Los Angeles Clippers in the second round of the 2011 NBA Draft with the 47th overall pick.
“We look forward to working with Travis to help his continued development,” said Head Coach Will Voigt.
In his final year at Georgia, Leslie averaged 14.2 points, 7.1 rebounds, and 2.9 assists in 33 games.
Leslie joins the Jam on the road in time for a two game series with the Reno Bighorns this weekend on Saturday and Sunday.
