Jeremy Wise Back in Bakersfield

BAKERSFIELD, February 28, 2014 – The Bakersfield Jam have acquired guard Jeremy Wise, it was announced today. Wise (6-2, 185, Southern Mississippi) previously played for the Jam during the 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.

In his three stints with Bakersfield, Wise has played a total of 136 games (113 starts) and holds career averages of 15.0 points, 5.4 assists, 3.4 rebounds and 1.2 steals. In his last stint with Bakersfield (2011-12), Wise played in 41 games (39 starts) and averaged 13.9 points, 6.3 assists, 4.1 rebounds and 1.2 steals. Most recently, the 27-year old played overseas in Hungary for the Sopron KC club and due to a season-ending injury (knee) he appeared in just nine games. In those nine games in Hungary, he posted averages of 19.2 points, 4.6 rebounds, 3.8 assists and 1.8 steals in 34.8 minutes per contest. Wise has also played professionally in Israel, Venezuela, Italy and the Philippines.

In addition, Wise was a member of the 2011 Miami Heat training camp and was then signed by the Heat on December 10, 2011. He appeared in one pre-season game for Miami and recorded 4 points, 1 rebound and 1 steal. The Jackson, MS-native played three seasons at the University of Southern Mississippi appearing in 96 games (all starts) and averaged 17.6 points, 4.0 assists, 2.4 rebounds, 1.13 steals and 34.5 minutes.

Wise will wear number 9 and is expected to be in uniform for tonight’s game when the Jam host the Reno Bighorns at 7:00 p.m. PST.
