James and McNeal Named to NBA D-League All-Star Team

BAKERSFIELD, February 4, 2013 Ė The Bakersfield Jam is proud to announce that standout forward Damion James and standout guard Jerel McNeal have been selected to play in the 2013 NBA Development League All-Star game in Houston on February 16th.

James (6-7, 225, Texas), who earned a GATORADE Call-Up from the Jam to the Brooklyn Nets in January, is averaging 15.6 points and 7.4 rebounds in 23 games played this season for Bakersfield. James also leads the team in blocks, with 1.4 per game. James has posted five double-doubles and has scored at least 20 points eight times this season.

McNeal (6-3, 200, Marquette) leads the Jam in points, assists and steals per game. He is averaging 16.1 points, 5.0 assists and 2.0 steals (ranked 3rd in the league) per contest. McNeal has played in all 28 games for Bakersfield this season. This will be McNealís second NBA D-League All-Star selection as he was named a D-League All-star as a member of the Rio Grande Valley Vipers in 2010.

James and McNeal will be on the Prospects Team that will be coached by Jam Coach Voigt. Voigt will be joined by assistant coaches John Bryant and Rod Baker, as well as Jamís head athletic trainer Shaun Mirza.

The seventh annual NBA D-League All-Star Game will take place on Saturday, Feb. 16, at Sprint Arena at NBA All-Star Jam Session at Houstonís George R. Brown Convention Center. The game will air live on NBA TV at 12 p.m. PT.
