Jam Send Third Team Member to NBA This Season

BAKERSFIELD, December 29, 2011 – Ryan Marchand, Jam Basketball Operations Intern this season, is joining the Minnesota Timberwolves as a Video Intern. Marchand is the third Jam staff member hired by an NBA team this year.

“I am extremely blessed to be joining the Minnesota Timberwolves and I know that this opportunity would have never presented itself if it wasn’t for Coach Voigt and the Bakersfield Jam,” said Marchand. “I am going to miss the staff, the players and the family atmosphere in Bakersfield and I look forward to following the Jam as they continue their successful season.”

“We're pleased to have Ryan join our staff,” added Adam Johansen, Minnesota Timberwolves Video Coordinator. “He gained valuable experience working for the Bakersfield Jam in the NBA D-League, and we look forward to having him assist us in our video department this season.”

Prior to joining the Jam, Marchand served as Head Manager for the San Jose State University Men’s Basketball Team for two seasons. In addition, he was an Assistant Basketball Coach at Paradise High School and Head/Assistant Coach in various AAU programs throughout Northern California. He was also the Western Athletic Conference Representative for the National Association of College Basketball Managers in 2011.

"I am excited that Ryan has this opportunity. He worked very hard while with us and we wish him the best of luck," added Head Coach Will Voigt.

Marchand earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Sports Management from San Jose State University in May 2011.
