Jam to Pick 11th in Each Round of 2012 NBA D-League Draft

BAKERSFIELD, October 17, 2012 – The NBA Development League announced today that its 2012 Draft will take place via teleconference on Nov. 2 at 4:00 p.m. PT, from the League’s New York headquarters. The Jam will have draft pick #11 in each round of the 2012 Draft. In addition, the Jam will have Austin Toros’ second round pick, 31st overall, which totals to nine picks for Bakersfield.

“We have traditionally done well in the draft and we look forward to putting together another exciting team for our fans this season,” said Head Coach Will Voigt.

The 2012 NBA D-League Draft order will be determined based on teams that did not qualify for the previous season’s playoffs, in reverse order of record, followed by those teams that did quality for the previous season’s playoffs, also in reverse order of record.

Each of the NBA D-League’s 16 teams will be given one pick in each of the eight rounds. No trades will be permitted during the draft and only players signed to an NBA Development League Standard Player Contract are eligible to be selected.

The Bakersfield Jam open the 2012-13 season on the road against the Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Friday November 23 at 5:00 p.m. PT. The Jam home opener comes a week later on Thursday, November 29 when they host the Idaho Stampede at 7:00 p.m. PT.
