Warriors Assign Richard Hendrix To Bakersfield Jam

NEW YORK, November 14, 2008: The Golden State Warriors’ Richard Hendrix was assigned to the Bakersfield Jam, it was announced today.
San Antonio's Ian Mahinmi and Hendrix are the first and second NBA players, respectively, assigned to an NBA D-League team this season. An all-time high 31 NBA players were assigned to NBA D-League affiliates during the 2007-08 season.
Hendrix was drafted in the second round (49th overall) of the 2008 NBA Draft and averaged 5.2 points and 7.6 rebounds in 17.2 minutes over five games with the Warriors at the 2008 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
A three-year starter at the University of Alabama, Hendrix averaged 14.0 points and 8.9 rebounds for his career, including a career-high 17.8 points and 10.1 rebounds during his junior season. Hendrix earned First Team All-SEC honors from the Associated Press and league coaches during his junior year, while earning Second Team All-Conference honors as a sophomore.
