Bakersfield Acquires Damion James

BAKERSFIELD, December 5, 2013 – The Bakersfield Jam today announced that they have acquired forward Damion James.

James (6-9, 225, Texas) appeared in 44 games with the Jam last season, and averaged 15.8 points, 8.2 rebounds and 1.4 steals. He was named a NBA Development League All-Star, where he posted 12 points, four rebounds and two assists for the Prospects Team. The University of Texas product was also selected to the All-NBA D-League Defensive First Team and to the All-NBA D-League Second Team.

In addition, on January 13, 2013, James received a GATORADE Call-Up from the Brooklyn Nets.

Most recently, he was a member of the 2013 Denver Nuggets’ training camp where he averaged 3.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in seven preseason games. Prior to his stint with Denver, James played for the Miami Heat at the 2013 NBA Summer League.

Bakersfield’s next contest will be on Friday, December 6 against the visiting Los Angeles D-Fenders. Tip-off is scheduled at 7 p.m. PST at the Dignity Health Event Center.
