Under the Boards - Interview with JaMychal Green 2-24-2013

The University of Alabama product JaMychal Green sits down and discusses his fantastic week for the Toros, which includes hitting a game winning shot against the Energy on Thursday with under 1 second left, hitting another game winning shot on Friday with under 2 seconds to go and being named Player of the Game on Sunday for scoring 20 points with 13 rebounds.

Up next for the Austin Toros is the Sioux Falls Skyforce (20-14), who happen to be just 1/2 game back of the Toros and Vipers in the Central Division. The Skyforce will visit the Toros on Wednesday night at 7:30pm at the Cedar Park Center.

The Skyforce, owned and operated by the Miami Heat, Minnesota Timberwolves, Orlando Magic and Philadelphia 76ers, are led by the 6-8 forward out of Syracuse, Demetris Nichols. Nichols, the 21st ranked NBA D League Prospect, is averaging 19 points and 5 rebounds a game.

The Austin Toros, owned and operated by the San Antonio Spurs, are lead by Spurs' assignee Cory Joseph as well as Green, 19th ranked Prospect Chris Roberts, #26th ranked Prospect Rick Jackson, and 30th ranked Prospect Tyler Wilkerson.

This promises to be an intense game as the margin for error is very slim. A win, and the Toros can be atop the division as a number 2 seed. A loss, and the Toros can find themselves in 3rd place in their division as a 6 seed. With just 17 games to go, every game matters.

Wednesday Nights is 'Winning Wednesday' for the Toros. Fans with a ticket stub from the 2/13 victory can bring that in to receive a free ticket to this Wednesday nights' game. If the Toros win on this Wednesday, then that ticket stub will be good for a free ticket to the next Wednesday night home game, which will be March 27th. Tickets are as low as $5 and can be purchased here.
