The University of Alabama product JaMychal Green sits down and discusses a variety of topics in this latest edition of 'Under the Boards'.
On Saturday, Green had a monster game, setting season highs in both points and rebound (29 points / 21 rebounds) while leading the Toros to one of the most exciting victories of the season (106-103 OT) over divisional foe the Tulsa 66ers.
Here, JaMychal discusses his role on the team, his experience playing with the San Antonio Spurs in the Summer League, his shoulder injury, and his expectations for this team going forward.
The next home game for the Toros is this Wednesday against the Maine Red Claws at 7:30pm at the Cedar Park Center. The Red Claws own a 19-13 record and are currently the 6th seed in the playoff standings. They're also boasting an 8-5 road record this year, so expect a battle.
The Red Claws, owned and operated by the Boston Celtics, are lead by 3rd ranked prospect Shelvin Mack, who's already made two trips to the NBA this season, 4th ranked DaJuan Summers (20 points a game), Fab Melo, who's spent time with the Celtics this year as well, the 11th ranked Chris Wright (18 points and 9 boards) and the 25th ranked Micah Downs (18 points and 7 RPG).
The Toros are lead by San Antonio Spurs Assignee Cory Joseph (19 pts /5 reb / 5 asst) along with 17th ranked Chris Roberts (defensive specialist), 22nd ranked Rick Jackson (nightly double double averaging 10 points and 10 boards) and 27th ranked Tyler Wilkerson, fresh off a knee injury. Given the championship experience of Jamarr Sanders and the development of JaMychal Green, this game has the potential to be every bit the barn burner that Saturday's game was.
