Austin, TX December 12, 2012 – The Austin Toros announced they will host their annual Youth Sports game on December 30th when the team takes on the Texas Legends at 3:00pm at Cedar Park Center. Youth wearing the jersey of the sport they participate in will receive a free ticket to attend the game, meet local sports professionals during a pregame autograph party and in the Toros’ Sunday Fun Day tradition take part in an autograph session with Toros players after the game on the court.
Because protecting children and providing them safe spaces in which they can learn, play and grow is central to the mission of every youth-serving organization, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children and the Austin Toros are hosting Safe to Compete: Protecting Child Athletes from Sexual Abuse to engage youth sports organizations, issue experts, athletes, parents and others committed to preventing the sexual abuse of child athletes. The panel discussion will begin at 1:00pm at Cedar Park Center.
“Working together, we can make sure that every child has a place where it is safe to compete,” David Boatright, Executive Director for the NCMEC Texas Regional Office said. “We are grateful to the Austin Toros for their commitment to Texas children.”
