AUSTIN, TX January 27, 2012 — The Austin Toros have signed 7-1, 240 pound center Luke Bonner. Bonner traveled with the team to Iowa and will wear jersey number 32 tonight when the Toros (18-4) take on the Energy (16-6).
Bonner is no stranger to the Toros roster, having played in 16 regular season games averaging four points and two rebounds in 2009-10. In six playoff games, Bonner averaged 17 points and 13 rebounds. Bonner’s most recent play has been in Lithuania.
Bonner played collegiate ball at Massachusetts where he averaged 6.9 points and 5.4 rebounds in 23 games his senior year. Bonner was also named to the 2008-09 Atlantic 10 All- Academic Team. Luke is the younger brother of San Antonio Spurs forward/center Matt Bonner.
