Austin, TX June 16 - The Austin Toros today announced that forward David McClure will be in Austin next week to take part in the Toros annual summer youth basketball camp. McClure was the Toros’ 5th round pick in the NBA D-League draft last year.
McClure played in 46 games with the Toros during the 2009-10 season, averaging three points and three rebounds in twelve minutes of play. He increased his shooting average to 50% during the playoffs and finished his rookie season scoring 110 points. McClure received his degree from Duke University where he played four seasons under Coach Mike Krzyzewski.
Camp begins Monday, June 21st and runs through Friday, June 25th, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. for youth entering third through ninth grades. The recreation center is located at 16318 Great Oaks Trail in Round Rock, Texas. Campers will receive instruction from Toros’ staff and local basketball coaches on developing fundamental skills.
Registration for the June camp is $249. Campers receive daily instruction, lunch, camp t-shirt, and five ticket vouchers to attend an Austin Toros home game during the 2010-11 regular season. Space is still available.
