Catching up with the Toros - Rick Jackson

Rick Jackson sits and talks with the Toros. Here are some snippets from the interview:

Q: What was the focus going into the RGV game today?

A: We wanted to come out and play hard. We knew that they like to run the court alot and that they like to score a lot of points, so we tried to really just stop them and make them set up in the half court...

Q: You guys were short handed and undersized against RGV, yet you dominated on the boards. How'd you do that?

A: Willpower. We went out there and gave it our all. You know, just fighting in there. As far as with rebounds...you gotta want to rebound. A lot of those rebounds don't just come to you....you gotta go get it. And I think we did a good job rebounding...

Q: You had 25 rebounds and 21 points...How are you feeling right now?

A: I'm feeling good. Talking to coach, he's been telling me to try to go out there and get 20 rebounds and I finally did...I got 25 rebounds. So now I'm going to try to make that the norm for me...

Q: You're getting stronger on the offensive end as well...have you been working on that?

A: Yes. People don't know this but I tore my Achilles. As far as getting back, to where I was at, I'm getting stronger. Last month, I played good...

Q: What's the game plan (for Bakersfield) this weekend?

A: As far as Bakersfield, they're a good team. We're going to have to be really aggressive...We gotta go and play our game...
