Austin Toros Announce 2013-14 Schedule
AUSTIN, TEXAS, September 5, 2013 The Austin Toros will open their ninth NBA D-League season on the road in a 2013 semifinals rematch against the Santa Cruz Warriors, Friday, November 22. The Toros-Warriors contest is the first of 50 regular season games for the Toros, 24 of which will take place at Cedar Park Center. The Toros open at home on Sunday, December 1 at 3pm hosting the newest team in the D-League, the Delaware 87ers.
This season promises to bring more excitement and fan friendly interaction, said Bill Goren, Toros Business Operations. With our offerings on Sunday Fun Day and the enthusiasm around FANtastic Fridays, fans will be in for a treat.
The Toros 2013-14 schedule offers 16 weekend home games. The team will again offer a Sunday Fun Day package for Sunday games that include a ticket, hot dog and drink for $11 per person. The team will also host FANtastic Fridays, a new promotion that is sure to keep fans guessing on what to expect on Friday nights.
The 2013-14 NBA D-League season will feature three divisions, East (Canton Charge, Delaware 87ers, Erie BayHawks, Fort Wayne Mad Ants, Maine Red Claws, and Springfield Armor), Central (Austin Toros, Iowa Energy, Rio Grande Valley Vipers, Sioux Falls Skyforce, Texas Legends and Tulsa 66ers), and West (Bakersfield Jam, Idaho Stampede, Los Angeles D-Fenders, Reno Bighorns, and Santa Cruz Warriors). Last season, the Toros advanced to the 2013 NBA D-League semi-finals posting a record of 29-25. Owned and operated by the San Antonio Spurs, the team assigned guards Cory Joseph and Nando De Colo, and center Aron Baynes to the Toros during the season. The Toros will face their Texas rivals, the Rio Grande Valley Vipers three times at home and the Texas Legends five times on their home court during the regular season.
