AUSTIN, TX March 6, 2012 – The Toros today announced they have acquired Josh Davis in a three team trade that sends forward Leo Lyons to the Dakota Wizards, who traded their second round pick in the 2012 NBA D-League draft to the Springfield Armor, who then sent Josh Davis to the Toros.
Davis (6-8, 235, Wyoming) most recently spent time (2011-12) with the Memphis Grizzlies playing in 15 games, averaging 1.9 points and 1.8 rebounds. In his ten year career, Davis has played in several leagues overseas (starting in 2002) and with six NBA teams including the Atlanta Hawks(2003-04), Philadelphia 76ers (2004-05), Milwaukee Bucks, Houston Rockets, Phoenix Suns (2005-06), and Memphis Grizzlies. He also played in the NBA D-League with the Idaho Stampede and Colorado 14ers.
Davis will join the Toros on Thursday when they face the Sioux Falls Skyforce at 7:30pm at Cedar Park Center. The Toros partnered with Cedar Park Regional Medical Center to present “Girl’s Night Out” brought to you by Waterloo Tan this Thursday, March 8th. The Toros jerseys will be auctioned during the game with all proceeds benefitting the Breast Cancer Resource Center of Texas. Tickets start at just $5.
