Taylor Jenkins Joins Atlanta Hawks Staff

AUSTIN, TX July 11, 2013 Spurs Sports & Entertainment today announced that Austin Toros head coach Taylor Jenkins resigned to accept an assistant coach position with the Atlanta Hawks. Jenkins, who recently completed his first season as head coach, led the Toros to a 27-23 record in 2012-13 that included a run to the 2013 NBA D-League Semifinals.

"On behalf of the entire Spurs family we want to congratulate Taylor on being named an assistant coach with the Hawks," said Toros general manager Sean Marks. "Taylor has been an integral part of the Toros success the past five years. He's a bright, young talent and has a tremendous future ahead of him. We wish him and his family all the best in Atlanta."

Prior to serving as head coach, Jenkins had served as an assistant coach with the Toros the previous four seasons, including their championship season in 2012 and back-to-back playoff appearances in 2009 and 2010. Jenkins is the third consecutive head coach to receive an NBA coaching position after leading the Toros.

Prior to the Toros, Jenkins interned with the San Antonio Spurs in 2007-08. He is a graduate of The Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
