ANAHEIM, Calif., June 28, 2007 – The Anaheim Arsenal have announced local player tryouts will be held Saturday and Sunday, September 22 and 23, 2007 at the world’s largest indoor sports facility in the US and home to the USA Men’s National Volleyball team, American Sports Center, located at 1500 S. Anaheim Blvd., Anaheim, CA, 92805.

The Arsenal local player tryouts offer athletes an opportunity to showcase their talents in front of the Anaheim Arsenal coaching staff, including head coach, Reggie Geary and assistant coaches, where players will compete to earn an invitation to the team’s training camp, which will begin in early November.

Last year’s camp saw over 150 campers participate, coming in from19 different states and from three continents. Of the 150 campers, 30 campers advanced to the final session to compete for a spot at our training camp and the chance to be a part of the Arsenal. Nine participants in all received NBA D-League contracts and countless other participants went on to play professionally, both in the states and overseas respectively.

Applicants may pre-register by submitting the official registration, disclosure and release forms, in addition to a $150 non-refundable fee by September 18, 2007. Tryouts are limited to the first 200 players and payments may be made by cash, check or credit card (Visa and Mastercard only). Application forms are available at www.anaheimarsenal.com.

Sixteen teams will comprise the 2007-08 NBA Development League season, which begins Thanksgiving weekend. The league is composed of the Albuquerque Thunderbirds (N.M.), Anaheim Arsenal (Calif.), Arkansas RimRockers (Little Rock), Austin Toros (Texas), Bakersfield Jam (Calif.), Colorado 14ers (Broomfield), Dakota Wizards (Bismarck, N.D.), Fort Worth Flyers (Texas), Idaho Stampede (Boise), Los Angeles D-Fenders, Sioux Falls Skyforce (S.D.),Tulsa 66ers (Okla.), Utah Flash (Orem), River Valley (Texas), Iowa (Des Moines), and Fort Wayne (Ind.).
