Thunderbirds Acqure Orr, Waive Frey

GREENVILLE, S.C., November 29 – The Albuquerque Thunderbirds have acquired center Randy Orr from the NBA Development League available player pool and waived forward Kevin Frey.

Orr, 6-11, 210, was in training camp with Austin before being released on November 22 when the Toros acquired Marcus Fizer. Selected in the sixth round (34th overall) of the 2004 D-League Draft by the Huntsville Flight, Orr played in 43 games with the Flight and the Columbus Riverdragons (now the Toros) last season.

Orr averaged 17.6 minutes, 5.3 points and 4.3 rebounds during 2004-05 season. He had not played in a game for Austin before being waived. Frey played in three games, averaging 8.3 minutes, 3.0 points and 2.0 rebounds for the Thunderbirds this season.
