Recap: Lakers 77, Clippers 65

The Los Angeles Lakers (2-1) clipped the Los Angeles Clippers (1-2) 77-65 in the third game of the day in Cox Pavilion on the campus of UNLV in the fourth day of action at the 2013 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The game marked a battle of cross town rivals looking to improve their standings in the inaugural Las Vegas Summer League Tournament which begins on Wednesday.

The Lakers had four players in double-figures on the night with Marcus Landry leading the way with 16 while Lester Hudson chipped in 13, Elias Harris and Chris Douglas-Roberts each chipped in 12. The Clippers were led by their 2013 draft pick, Reggie Bullock with 12 points.

After trailing by eight early in the opening quarter of play the Clippers earned the 21-18 lead by outscoring the Lakers 11 to six to close the quarter. Clippers starters Summers and Bullock combined for 10 points in the quarter.

The two teams were evenly matched throughout the second quarter with the Lakers taking the lead for good on a pair of free throws to end the half at 42-40. The quarter saw six lead changes and four ties.

The Lakers took a commanding lead in the third quarter holding the clippers to just nine points in the period. The Lakers built their lead to as many as 21 in the fourth quarter as they cruised to an easy victory earning their second victory in as many days.

This was the final game for each team in their three game slate, both teams will learn their fate at the conclusion of Tuesday's games.
