Recap: Bucks 88, Nuggets 74

The Milwaukee Bucks destroyed the Denver Nuggets 88-74 in the first wire-to-wire victory of the 2013 NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. The Bucks were led by John Henson with 19 points while Dominique Jones added 18 points. Ben Uzoh and Luke Harangody both added 11 points apiece for the struggling Nuggets.

The Bucks finished the game shooting 32-64 for 50 percent while the Nuggets struggled from the field connecting on just 28-80 for 35 percent.

After the first 10 minutes of play the Bucks took a 26-21 lead. Both teams came out strong in the opening quarter, the Bucks connecting on 67 percent (10-15) while the Nuggets hit 47.1 percent (8-17). John Henson tallied a team high 11 points for the Bucks while Evan Fournier added seven for the Nuggets.

With the game tied up at 30 early in the second quarter the Bucks blew the game open as they went on an 18-6 run to close out the half with Jones leading the way with 12 points. Shooting 60 percent (18-30) in the opening half, the Bucks held the Nuggets to just 33 percent from the field (13-39) in the opening half.

Dominating the third quarter, the Bucks built their lead to as many as 20 in the ball game and finished the period up 65-49. The fourth quarter was much like the third; the Bucks extended their lead to 23 and cruised to an easy victory.

The Milwaukee Bucks (1-0) will return to action tomorrow as they host the New Orleans Pelicans (1-0) while the Nuggets (0-1) will take Sunday off and return to the hardwood on Monday and take on the Chicago Bulls (1-0)
