James and Nunnally Combine for 50 in Debut with Legends

Frisco, TX, (Feb. 21, 2014) –The Texas Legends, presented by Veracruz (visit Veracruz.mx), acquired two new players via a three-team trade yesterday who subsequently combined for 50 points in tonight’s loss to the Delaware 87ers.

The matchup stayed close with 14 lead changes and 11 tied moments. The Legends got off to a hot start, going up 23-19 in the first quarter and maintaining the lead through most of the second to go into halftime up by one. The third quarter was a struggle for both teams, with the Legends ultimately gaining a 10-point advantage and holding the lead heading to the final 12 minutes. Delaware fought back from an eight-point deficit to regain control halfway through the fourth and the Legends were unable to post a comeback, ultimately falling by four, 117-121.

Damion James led the Legends with 26 points and 9 rebounds, followed closely by James Nunnally with 24 points and 5 rebounds and Melvin Ely with 22 points and 5 rebounds. Bo Spencer came off the bench to lead the 87ers with 23 points and 9 assists.
