Jam Beaten at Home by Bighorns

BAKERSFIELD, January 25, 2014 The Bakersfield Jam (10-16) were defeated at home Saturday night by the Reno Bighorns (14-11), 122-98.

Bakersfield got off to a 10-3 start, but Reno quickly responded with a 22-8 run and took a 25-18 lead after one quarter of play. The Bighorns maintained their strong play and execution in the second quarter as they outscored Bakersfield 37-22 in the quarter and went into the break with a 22 point advantage (62-40).

Reno maintained their lead the entire second half, extending it at one point to as many as 30 points (third quarter). Although Bakersfield rallied late in the fourth period to cut their deficit to just 12 (108-96), Reno held their ground and defeated the Jam for the sixth straight time this season.

The Jam were paced by Ike Diogu (32 points, 9 rebounds) and Phoenix Suns assignee Archie Goodwin (27 points). JamesOn Curry had a double-double with 14 points and 11 assists.

K.C. Rivers led the Bighorns with 22 points off the bench while Trent Lockett posted 20 points and seven rebounds. Bryan Davis contributed 17 points and eight rebounds as a reserve.
